Center for Clean Air Solutions (CCAS)

Background and Rationale for the Establishment of the Center

📚 Background and Rationale

Fine particulate matter with a diameter of 2.5 micrometers or less (PM2.5) is a major environmental issue in Thailand, as it continues to occur annually and has significant adverse impacts on public health.

Each year, particularly in the early months, particulate matter levels in Thailand frequently exceed national standards due to open burning, transportation, industrial activities, and transboundary haze, resulting in adverse effects on public health.

Therefore, the Center for Clean Air Solutions (CCAS) was established under the support of the Thai Health Promotion Foundation (ThaiHealth).
